My friend Amy had a birthday last week so here's the card I made for her using Papertrey's Out on a Limb. I absolutely love that set but it was out of stock for the longest time so I made sure I bought it the day it was back in, just in case! Lately I've been loving brown and pink together.
I had to make something springy because it's still cold and snowy here in Germany. I'm so ready for the warm weather to get here. Last year at this time we were wearing shorts and t-shirts.
Recipe
Stamps: Out on a Limb, Mixed Messages (Papertrey)
Cardstock: Brown textured (Die Cuts With a View); Ivory (Office Depot)
Ink: Chocolate, Blush, Sweet Leaf (Close To My Heart)
Accents: Stickles; bling flowers (Queen & Co.); Ribbon (Offray)
Tools: Cuttlebug; Nestabilities

My first card
, So, this is the first card I'm going to post. I've made a bunch so I guess I'll add them to my blog bit by bit. Almost all of the cards I make are sent to people. Really it's all I have time for right now. I'd love to be able to make cards just for the fun of it, but with Brian gone and taking care of the kids by myself I just don't have the time.
Anyway, here's a card I did based on a sketch by Jen del Muro last week. Here's her sketch:
This is the first time I've even followed a layout from a sketch and I don't really like my card. Originally I had three Dew Drops on the bottom left hand side. I made the card at night and the lighting in our living room isn't good. I thought they were all the same color but when I looked at them the next morning in the sunlight they were different. I had attached them with glue dots and attempted to take them off but tore the paper so I had to cover it with the flower. So, no more removing glue dots. I've learned my lesson!
Recipe
Stamps: Thank You (Hero Arts)
Cardstock: Aqua Mist, Spring Moss (Papertrey); White (Office Depot)
Patterned Paper: Everyday Blessings (Papertrey)
Ink: Aqua Mist (Papertrey)
Accents: Velvet flower (Maya Road); Dew Drop (Robin's Nest); Spring Moss satin ribbon (Papertrey)
Tools: paper punches (Creative Memories, Fiskars); Cuttlebug; Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

So, this is me
Well, I guess I'm joining the blog bandwagon. My name is Sue and I'm very new to paper crafting. My friend Amy was teaching a card class at our local USO and from the first class I was hooked. I mostly love making cards, and have only finished two scrapbook pages, but only thanks to Amy.
So, a little about me. I'm originally from Canada but live in Germany right now. I've been married to my husband Brian for a little over 9 years and we have two wonderful boys, Connor who is 3 1/2 and Hunter who is 10 months. Brian's a helicopter pilot in the Army and I'm a stay at home mom so I'm extremely busy with the boys. Unfortunately they leave me very little time for any card making.
Well, that's about it for my first post. I'll be back soon with some of my paper creations!
